With Samsung Group leading the way, major South Korean conglomerates including Kia, Hyundai Glovis, POSCO, and Hyosung kicked off their recruitment campaigns for the latter half of 2023. Despite the mounting economic uncertainty, these companies are proactively looking for top talent to navigate the upcoming challenges.

Kia announced that it will be conducting recruitment for college graduates from September 11 to 25. The carmaker made changes to its hiring process late last year, with ongoing recruitment each month for specific job roles in the first half and a groupwide recruitment for new employees in the second half.

Hyundai Glovis is also accepting applications for college graduate hires until September 17 encompassing various sectors, including logistics, shipping, distribution, new businesses, KD, IT, and management support.

On Monday, POSCO Future M announced its recruitment plans in the field of battery materials that is projected to lead global growth. Over the past year, the battery materials firm has hired more than 700 employees, or more than 30 percent of its existing workforce. This time, the company is planning a large-scale recruitment drive for both new and experienced professionals across all departments.

Applications for new hires and experienced professionals can be submitted to POSCO Group’s recruitment website until September 19 and September 25 respectively.

Hyosung Group has also launched its public recruitment drive for college graduates in the second half of 2023. The conglomerate is looking to hire about 200 individuals across six affiliated companies in addition to its holding company. Hyosung previously hired around 200 new graduates in the first half of the year and this year’s recruitment scale is double that of the previous year.

Meanwhile, Samsung Group has begun its recruitment process for new employees across 20 of its affiliates including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics and Samsung Life Insurance. Samsung has committed to hiring some 80,000 new employees by 2026, hiring 10,600 individuals last year and aims to hire a similar number in this year’s drive.
