South Korea’s NHN Corp. presented a growth strategy under a new brand slogan, “Weaving New Play,” to achieve the vision of becoming a global top-tier tech company as it celebrated its 10th anniversary on Tuesday.

“From our humble start as a gaming company, NHN has transformed into a domestic leader in information technology, surpassing 2 trillion won ($1.55 billion) in annual revenue,” said NHN’s Chief Executive Officer Jung Woo-jin in a letter sent to employees on the milestone occasion.

“The past decade has been a continuous journey of new challenges and adventures,” he added.

Jung noted that NHN’s next 10 years will be a time when its diversification efforts will take root in every corner of the global market and maximize their potential.

“By leveraging NHN’s unique innovation DNA, we aim to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s leading IT companies on the global stage in 10 years,” the CEO said.

Established in August 2013, NHN, formerly NHN Entertainment, started its journey by focusing on pioneering new businesses to secure its future growth, after separating from the portal service, Naver Corp.

In 2020, NHN achieved a remarkable milestone by recording about 2.11 trillion won in consolidated revenue, a four-fold increase compared to its first year’s revenue of 556.9 billion won.

Despite this success, the company faced the challenge of enhancing its profitability, as last year’s operating profit was only 39.1 billion won.

To address this, NHN continues to prioritize efforts to improve profitability and optimize its business operations.

The new brand slogan, Weaving New Play, encapsulates the meaning of “creating a new tomorrow through our connections.”

This means that services in various fields, backed by NHN‘s long-standing business experience and abundant technology, provide new value to society by connecting imagination and reality, connecting technology and life, and connecting people to people, while creating sustainable growth in the global market.
