Samsung, Starbucks collaborate with Kia introduce EV9 goods

Major companies from home and abroad are engaging in various collaborative marketing with EV9, a large electric sport utility vehicle of South Korea’s Kia Corp.

Samsung Electronics Co. announced Tuesday that it will unveil The Freestyle EV9 Edition, a portable TV screen that allows users to enjoy videos while traveling.

Samsung Electronics attached EV9 to the name of the portable screen as it features a unique skin with a digital pattern lighting grille shaped after the signature color of the Kia SUV EV9, ocean matte blue.

With The Freestyle, users can enjoy special entertainment anywhere along with the EV9 optimized for outdoor activities such as camping or caravanning, as it can be charged directly from the SUV, according to the company.

It is the first collaboration of its kind between a portable screen and an automotive brand.

Kia is also the first Korean automaker to partner with Starbucks Corp. to create five collaboration goods, including a Boston bag, pouch, and recyclable cup, which reflect the design and direction of the EV9.

The Boston bag and pouch are made of recycled plastic fiber (rPET) for eco-friendly purposes, and the design reflects the exterior colors of the EV9, including ivory silver and ocean blue.

The interior of the Boston Bag reflects the features of EV9, which has three rows of seats and can accommodate up to seven passengers depending on the seat configuration, with dividers that can be divided into two to six compartments.

The EV9 has been generating much interest, with over 10,000 pre-orders within just eight days since registration.
