Samsung Electronics Co. showcased its high-efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions at Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2024, Europe‘s largest biennial HVAC and refrigeration exhibition, which began on Tuesday in Milan.

According to the company’s announcement on Wednesday, Samsung Electronics showcased high-efficiency heat pump eco-heating systems (EHS) and commercial air conditioning solutions alongside its SmartThings home appliance control application and wind-free air conditioners (ACs) at its 500-square-meter booth during the event, which runs through Friday.

Samsung Electronics‘ wind-free ACs and EHS mono, touch central controller and six other products received recognition at the event, the company added.

EHS, an underfloor heating and hot water solution for residential and commercial applications, offers better efficiency than conventional boilers by using air heat and electricity to produce hot water.

The integrated heating and hot water solution, Climate Hub, also made its debut at the event.

Featuring a 7-inch front-panel display, the Climate Hub allows users to easily monitor their home’s energy consumption and conveniently operate it via touch controls. Its slim design enhances insulation performance and facilitates integrated energy management via SmartThings.

Another highlight was the introduction of the new Digital Variable Multi (DVM) series of high-efficiency system ACs.

DVM S2, which uses artificial intelligence (AI), provides approximately 20 percent faster cooling than existing products by learning cooling operation patterns and outdoor unit conditions to optimize temperature and pressure for energy savings.

DVM S Eco uses the next-generation R32 refrigerant, which has a 33 percent lower global warming potential (GWP) than the existing R410A refrigerant, and is about 30 percent lower in height, making it easier to install.

The product range showcased also included wall-mounted and one-way/four-way cassette-type wind-free ACs, along with home Internet of Things (IoT) solutions based on SmartThings.

“We will continue to actively target the European AC market by introducing innovative high-efficiency products,” Vice President Lee Moo-hyung, who heads the Digital Appliances (DA) division, said.
