Samsung Electronics Co.‘s latest bespoke refrigerator has become the first global home appliance to receive the highest Internet of Things (IoT) security rating, the company said Tuesday.
The 2024 model of Samsung Electronics’ Bespoke Family Hub+ refrigerator has been awarded a Diamond rating in the IoT safety evaluation by UL Solutions Inc., a leading global safety science company.
UL Solutions conducts IoT security tests for smart home devices for hacking risks and security levels, and awards five grades?Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
The diamond level is awarded only after passing rigorous tests in areas such as detecting malicious software tampering, preventing unauthorized access attempts, and anonymizing user data.
The Bespoke Family Hub+ refrigerator incorporates advanced artificial intelligence and IoT technologies, the company said.
A 32-inch full high-definition touchscreen is located on the right door of the refrigerator, allowing users to access video services while cooking.
