Hyundai Motor America posted record sales in the United States for the month of February, selling 60,341 vehicles, excluding Genesis, in total.
The company said on Friday, local time, that its U.S. sales grew 5.8 percent in February from the previous February record of 57,044 cars set last year.
By model, Hyundai Motor’s Tucson led the pack with 15,999 units, followed by Santa Fe with 9,239 units, Elantra (Avante) with 8,432 units, Palisade with 7,832 units, and Kona with 7,024 units.
Notably, Palisade saw a 16.2 percent increase in sales from a year ago in February, while Tucson, Santa Fe, and Kona saw growth rates of 14 percent, 15.6 percent, and 15.5 percent, respectively.
The company’s eco-friendly vehicles, including electric and hybrid models, also contributed to the positive performance, with a 7 percent on-year increase in sales.
