Shares of Bukwang Pharmaceutical Co. gained nearly 14 percent on Monday, following its decision to buy back treasury shares worth 50 billion won ($37.2 million).

Shares of Bukwang Pharmaceutical were trading at 7,630 won on Monday morning, up 13.88 percent from the previous session.

The gain comes as Bukwang Pharmaceutical held a board meeting on Friday and decided to buy back and cancel 2.61 million shares worth 50 billion won.

The shares account for 3.67 percent of the outstanding shares.
