THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH FAR 5.203. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY AND NO RESPONSE IS REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue a solicitation to acquire a high throughput shredding and Briquettor system to replace the existing floor Shredder, Briquettor, fans and dust collection systems for the sub-basement located at the Washington D.C. Currency Facility (DCF). Additionally, move the existing Briquettor/Dust collection system from sub-basement. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Destruction Certification Branch (DCB) destroys operational spoilage of United States currency trusted worldwide. Continued downtime of the Shredder and Briquettor system is affecting organizational goals. Mutilated currency (known as MUTS at the BEP) has been identified as a security and must be destroyed in a timely manner. See attached Statement of Work for additional details. We anticipate issuing a solicitation on or about November 27, 2017. The applicable NAICS code is 333249, Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 Employees.
