The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), ERRC, Biobased and Other Animal Coproducts (BOAC) Research Unit in Wyndmoor, PA, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Mistras Products & Systems Division in Princeton Junction, NJ 08550, on a sole source basis, to furnish and deliver (FOB) Destination a Ultrasonic Testing System to the Eastern Regional Research Center. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Anticipated date of award is September 2, 2016.

The System includes a C-Span Ultrasonic Inspection System (MISTRAS UPK-T24 - 1 EA), Search Tube (UPK24ST - 2 EA), Thru-Transmission Adapter Kit (UPK-TTA - 1 EA), UHF TO BNC Adapters (ADAPTERS - 2 EA), Manual Manipulator (UPK-MAN-B- 1 EA), and 1 Channel, PCI Express Based UT System (AD-IPR-Express-1 - 1 EA).

The xyz scanner and stronger pulser from Mistras will help us accomplish our CRIS goals for our AU project by being able to scan in the Z or up and down direction, which will allow us to hang the hide pieces and scan them up and down minimizing the slack as compared to the x and y directions. Also the more powerful pulser should increase our capability to penetrate through the cow hides more easily.

A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely at the discretion of the Government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 (current as of FAC 2005-89). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 334519. The Solicitation number is AG-3JL0-S-16-0010 and is issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
