배우자 결혼이민사증 신청 시 중국 내 세종학당에서 120시간 이수하는 방법 이외에 다른 방법으로 한국어 구사요건을 충족하여 결혼서류를 제출하고자 합니다.

어떤 방법이 있는지 자세히알려주시면 감사하겠습니다.

개정된 결혼이민사증 심사기준에 따라, 신청인은 원칙적으로 기초 수준 이상의 한국어 구사가 가능하여야 하며, 아래 중 하나에 해당하는 입증자료를 제출하여야 함을 안내해드립니다.

- 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 1급 이상 취득한 증명서
- 법무부 지정 세종학당에서 한국어 초급과정을 이수하였음을 입증하는 이수증
- 대학 또는 대학원에서 한국어 관련 학위 취득 관련 서류
- 결혼이민자가 외국국적동포임을 입증하는 서류
- 결혼이민자가 한국에서 과거 1년이상 연속하여 체류한 출입국기록 등

Q. Korean proficiency requirement for applying for a marriage immigrant visa

I am going to apply for a marriage immigrant visa and thus need to satisfy Korean proficiency requirement. Is there any other way than attending a 120-hour program at the King Sejong Institute in China?

A. Thank you for your inquiry. This is the visa dept. of consular office in Shenyang, China. The following information will be answers to your question.

According to the new screening criteria, only those who can speak Korean on above-basic level are allowed to apply for marriage immigrant visas. Applicants should meet at least one of the following items and also submit its supportive document.  

- Above-level 1 TOPIK certificate
- An certificate to prove that you completed the beginner’s course of Korean language at the King Sejong Institute designated by the Ministry of Justice.
- Documents of degree acquisition relating to Korean language in universities or graduate schools
- An certificate to prove that you are a Korean with foreign citizenship
- Immigration record, etc, to prove that you consecutively stayed in Korea for more than a year
